Group Organisers 80th Birthday Surprise from Edwards Coaches

Edwards Coaches of South Wales have been operating for over 90 years and in that time, have built strong relationships with individuals and groups alike across South Wales and beyond. With over 200 individual group travel organisers, it would be easy to get tied up with the work coming in thick and fast; however group’s manager Fran Thomas ensured that she found time for one particular long standing and loyal organiser.

Linda Keedwell of Treherbert recently turned 80 years and this was marked by an unexpected visit by Fran who hand delivered flowers to Linda, an Edwards group organiser for over 18 years. Organising group travel over that length of time has led to Linda having many close friendships with Edwards staff and the surprise of flowers, was recognised as a lovely gesture to mark her landmark birthday celebration.

Edwards Coaches Double Delight at Accor Hotel Awards

Edwards Coaches, now in their 91st year of trading and 5th generation of family ownership, have carried their run of award wins from 2015, into early 2016. Last month, it was announced that Edwards are in the running for no less than 6 awards at this years National Coach Tourism Awards and this month, they were awarded winners of 2 awards at the annual Accor Hotel awards in London.

The awards were: 1) ‘2015 Partnership Achievement Award Group and Coach Operator’ and 2) ‘Special Achievement Award’ which was presented to longstanding Edwards employee, Alan Clough, who has recently retired from his position as Tours and Contracts Manager. Both awards are acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication shown by all the staff at Edwards.

The Accor Awards recognise leisure and tourism companies within the industry and throughout the UK. Each company is reviewed based on room sales, revenue and account relationships; only the highest scoring receives the accolade.

The high achievement standards set by Edwards in 2015 will be difficult to follow but with 2016 already off to a winning start, the outlook is definitely positive for the year ahead.

Over 500 People to Travel to Ireland with Edwards Coaches

Edwards Coaches of South Wales are now in their 91st year of operation and 5th generation of family ownership. Taking over 80,000 customers away each year and transporting over 7,000 students, you will often see one of their 210 coaches on the road each day.

On Friday 5th February, over 500 passionate Welsh Rugby fans will be making their way over to Ireland on an Edwards coach. Departing from Cardiff West services at 9:30 am Friday morning, the car park is set to be a sea of red as 10 coaches line up to take the fans on the short journey across the Irish sea.

With the Six Nations getting into full swing this weekend, Edwards have already started to receive bookings for their 2017 tours to Scotland, France and Italy as Welsh supporters plan their rugby adventures across Europe.

Edwards Coaches Shortlisted for Six National Awards

Edwards Coaches, a family run business of South Wales, now in their 91st year of trading and 5th generation of ownership, have enjoyed an exciting start to 2016. To go alongside a new, exciting summer brochure and the recent release of a cruise brochure, Edwards Coaches have been nominated for a series of awards at the ‘National Coach Tourism Awards 2016’. The awards highlight and reward the most successful and high performing operators, within the coach tourism industry.

With the shortlist released on 29th January, Edwards are delighted to announce they have been included in no less than 6 award categories. These are; ‘Accommodation Provider of the Year’, ‘Holiday Programme of the Year’, ‘Coach Tour Operator Brochure of the Year’, ‘Coach Tourism Professional of the Year’, ‘Coach Tour Driver of the Year’ and ‘Coach Tour Operator of the Year (Large fleet).

Following the announcement of the shortlist, Jason Edwards FCILT said, “It’s such a great honour to be recognised by the National Coach Tourism awards and it’s a testament to the hard work and passion shown by the Edwards staff throughout the past year”. The awards take place on Wednesday March 2016 at VOX, Resorts World, Birmingham.
